Six women of St. Helen's Hall informally pose behind a large pile of what appear to be cannon balls. Each woman wears a white formal dress, a neck tie or bow, and a hat. The back of the photograph indicates that the 3rd woman from the left is Charlotte Whalley and the 5th woman is Jan Whalley. The lines that run horizontal across the photograph are burns from an adhesive album.
